EXERCISE 3.0.

‘IN THE DARK’

A young Reporter working on the case of a missing teenage girl re-visits the place were she was last seen. These harsh broken streets hold more than just abandoned dreams.

KEY POINTS

Position: Gentle motion to settle with unease

  • This a dark winter night in a small industrial town.

  • Shadows and strays abound.

  • You have been drinking. You needed it.

  • This is the place were your ‘muse’ was last seen.

  • Somehow you think that she may well return.

  • But, the killer is still at large.

  • So, what is this?

  • A ‘suicide mission’?

  • That is what they are all saying now.

  • Your editor is about to close this story.

  • You are out of options.

  • That is why you are here.

  • But you believe you can sense someone more.

  • It isn’t the end.

  • But, perhaps that is just your paranoia?

  • “Hello?"

  • They never answer.

  • Just echoes in the dark.

  • “Hello?”

  • Is there anybody there?

  • Maybe it is time to let this go.
