EXERCISE 2.0.
A bereaved parent sits in the bedroom of their recently deceased child. They close their eyes in prayer as a daily practise in the hope that they can change the past. Suddenly, something compels them to open.
KEY POINTS
Position: Sitting - on the edge of a bed
Take a few moments in your environment before closing your eyes.
The moments pass in deep meditation.
And then…
You open and catch a glimpse of your deceased child standing in the doorway.
You are happy, but then…
Reality returns.
The child is gone.
Disappeared, once more.
Close your eyes again in the hope that your child will appear once more.
You open to...
Nothing.
Your child is not there.
Close your eyes a third time.
Surely this will work again?
“Dinner?”
It is your partner, now standing in that same doorway.
Open your eyes.
Settle back to the strong silent type they believe you to be.
Perhaps we can try again tomorrow…
Suggested Duration: 2 Minutes
